Valley Jr. Warriors Alumni, Chris Kreider, entered an elite group of New York Rangers players as he surpassed Adam Graves to secure sole possession as the 3rd All-time leader in goals. It was a historic night for Kreider as he recorded his 500 career NHL point in the same game. One day later, Kreider recorded his 100 career power-play goal.
Kreider is now in his 12th season with the Rangers. He is on pace to have his highest point season of his career. Kreider has played in 33 games recording 17 goals and 14 assists for 31 total points.
Kreider has not had an easy road to this point. In the 2017-2018 season, he was diagnosed with a blood clot in his arm. Through his perseverance and having the heart of a warrior, Kreider rebounded and has only continued to grow as a staple of the Rangers organization. Kreider has been named to the NHL All-Star team in 2020 and 2022.
Kreider, a Boxford, MA native was with the Valley Jr. Warriors. for four years from 2004-2008. He then attended Masconomet Regional High School for two years before playing his junior and senior year at Phillips Academy Andover. Kreider then went on to play at Boston College where he became one of the top players in the nation and was selected in the first round (No. 19) in the 2009 NHL draft. In 2020, Kreider signed a seven-year contract with the NY Rangers.
