Steve Macadams

Steve MacAdams is entering his 9th season as Player / Program Director with the Warriors. He is an accomplished professional with more than 30 years of progressive coaching experience. He comes with a strong reputation in player and program development where he has worked with numerous players and organizations throughout the United States.

He previously served as director of operations for Paul Vincent’s Dynamic Skating Ltd., one of the top hockey consulting and development camps in the United States. MacAdams, a two year captain at Salem State College, has coached from the youth level through the Junior and college ranks. Recently, MacAdams' has coached our '97 and ’02 Elite team, who have won the Massachusetts Select Championship and advanced to the USA Hockey Nationals. He has also coached U16 and U18 teams in the program. He also serves as assistant coach at Austin Prep School.

Skills Instructor

Bill Pappas

Bill Pappas is one of the most highly regarded hockey coaches in Massachusetts over the past decade and has been involved in the development of a plethora of NCAA Division 1 and NHL players over that 10 year period. Bill was instrumental in the success of the ’97 VJW team that advanced to the USA Hockey Nationals 3 times (2009-2014) and boasts 3 NHL 1st & 2nd Round Draft Picks. Bill has also been key to the revitalization of the Austin Prep Hockey Program. Over the past 5 seasons Austin Prep has captured multiple CCL Titles and appeared in multiple Super 8 Tournaments. Bill is currently the Head Coach for Austin Prep as well as the Assistant coach for Valley Jr Warrior U-18 and 02 Elite squads. Bill has been with the VJW program as a defensive coach since 2006. As a player Bill is a former standout at Malden Catholic, New Prep and Westfield State.

Girls Program Director

Seth Goodrich

Seth Goodrich, who has spent the past 5 seasons as the director and skills instructor for the North Shore Vipers has been named as the Director of the Jr. Warrior Girls program. Seth hails from Salisbury, Vermont, and played high school hockey for both Salisbury for two seasons and then Trinity-Pawling his junior and senior year. After a postgraduate season with the Green Mountain Glades in the EJHL, Seth attended St. Anselm College where he played four years of varsity hockey and was named captain both his junior and senior years. After graduation, he worked at the Breakaway Ice Center as coach and skills director for the North Shore Vipers programs. In 2011 Seth accepted the role of Boys Varsity Head Coach and Math teacher at the Hoosac School. Seth later returned to Breakaway Ice Center as program director of the North Shore Vipers.

During his tenure as program director the Vipers emerged as a perennial Tier I contender at the state and national level. Seth directed and coached teams to a Mass State Championship and most recently, a USA Hockey National Championship. Seth is also the founder of Goodrich Hockey School and has trained and developed over 40 NCAA Division I and III players and commits, including 6 Hockey East and ECAC commits this season.

General Manager/Head Coach Juniors

Ryan McGrath

Ryan McGrath comes to the Jr. Warriors with close to 20 years of experience in coaching, player development and NCAA placement. Most recently Ryan spent the last 5 seasons as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at Wentworth Institute of Technology. In his time with Wentworth he recruited 15 players from the EHL. Prior to Wentworth Ryan spent 4 seasons as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at the University of Massachusetts-Boston. At UMB Ryan helped recruit 5 all-American’s and helped build the Beacons into the national powerhouse they are today. In addition to his work at the NCAA level he has helped promote over 150 players to NCAA Hockey while with the South Shore Kings, Portland Jr. Pirates, Northern Mass Cyclones, Rhode Island Saints and Reading (MA) High School. Ryan has also made a name for himself in player development circles as he was the Director of Player Development for Mass Hockey from 2010-2014. In that Position he oversaw the process to select players for USA Hockey’s National Development Festival’s. He has also worked for the state federations in Maine, Rhode Island, Florida as well as the Rocky Mountain District. In the summer months Ryan is the Lead Instructor for Paul Vincent Hockey Schools located at Hockeytown USA in Saugus, MA.

U18 Tier I Half Season, EHL Junior Assistant

Andrew Andricopoulos

Andrew grew up in Groveland, MA before attending Tabor Academy. At 16, he moved to Quebec City to play for the Quebec Remparts in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where he lived with, and played for, NHL Hall of Famer Patrick Roy. Andrew was a member of the 2006 Memorial Cup Championship team and played alongside current NHL stars Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Alexandre Radulov. Andrew holds several defensemen scoring records in Quebec Remparts history. After his QMJHL career, Andrew attended several NHL and AHL camps before playing 60 games in the ECHL in the Washington Capitals and San Jose Sharks systems. Upon completion of his professional career, he returned to play Division 1 hockey in Fredericton, NB for St. Thomas University under the coaching of former NHL player Mike Eagles. Andrew had acted as the U.S. scout for the QMJHL for the past four seasons. Andrew is also entering his 3rd season as Assistant Coach of Men's Varsity Hockey at Brooks School. He resides in Groveland, MA.

Kevin DeMichaelis

Kevin is a resident of Andover and is entering his third year with the Warriors. He grew up in Woburn, MA playing in the Woburn youth hockey program. He played his high school hockey at Matignon winning a state championship in 1988 before attending Curry College. He coached in the Natick Youth Hockey program in 1996 and 1997 taking his Midget team to the state finals. He has coached in the Andover Youth Hockey program from mite development through bantams for the past eight seasons.

Joe Harb

Joe Harb returns to the Warriors for a sixth season after serving as both a skills instructor and assistant coach of the 2004 and 2007 teams. Joe grew up in North Andover Ma playing in the North Andover Youth Hockey program. A standout and team captain in both hockey and football at North Andover High School, Joe has over 16 years of coaching experience in both sports while coaching at Methuen High School, North Andover High School, and in the Methuen Youth Hockey, Timberlane Youth Football, and Atkinson Youth Baseball/Softball programs. Joe focuses on instilling confidence in his players while emphasizing the importance of success both academically and athletically. A level 3 certified USA Hockey Coach, Joe is the Science Curriculum Coordinator for the Methuen Public Schools and owner of Perennial Landscaping in North Andover Ma.

Jack Blaeser

Jack Blaeser brings 12 years of head coach experience and level 4 certification with the Jr Warriors where he has led multiple teams to league championship and E9 qualification. More importantly he focuses on a philosophy of strong fundamentals, the value of hard work, and uses competitive sports as the ideal playground for cultivating important life long values and lessons with his players. Jack played throughout his youth where he was captain of St. John's Prep (Danvers) and went on to play at Brown University.

Steve Mauiri

Steve is currently a resident of Middleton, MA. He grew up in Everett, MA where he played his high school hockey and went on to play at the collegiate level for Salem State College and later the University of Mass in Boston. He is a level 3 USA Hockey Certified coach and has been coaching at the youth level for the last 8 years as well as volunteering at Mass Hockey USA CCM High Performance Program for National Development Camps. Steve's philosophy fits right in with the Warrior Development model as he believes in teaching and developing players in a positive environment with an emphasis on competing and working hard.

Brian Cronin

A resident of Andover, Brian has been coaching in the Warrior organization for the last seven years. Prior to coaching youth hockey, Brian served as the assistant varsity coach at Central Catholic for 10 years from 2001-2011. Cronin played his college hockey at Colby from 1992-1996 and captained the team his senior season. In addition to earning All-American honors for his senior campaign at Colby, Brian was named the ECAC Player of the Year.

U14 Elite – Full Season

Dave Sacco

David Sacco will serve as assistant coach of the U14 team. Dave stands as the second all-time leading scorer at Boston University and was a First Team NCAA All-American. He was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1988 NHL Draft. Dave spent two years with the Maple Leafs before being traded to the Anaheim Ducks. Sacco also represented the United States at the 1993 World Championships and the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer.

2006 Elite

Marc Griffin

Marc Griffin returns to the Warriors for a seventh straight season. Griffin is a North Shore native and a former VJW player. A resident of North Reading, Griffin grew up playing for both Triton Youth Hockey and the Warriors. Upon graduating from Austin Prep High School, Griffin went on to play at Bentley University and became captain of the 1998 team. After college Griffin was an assistant coach on the VJW Junior team and has coached with the North Reading Youth Hockey program.

2006 Select

Craig Kneeland

Craig resides in Methuen with his wife and 3 sons. He is returning to the program for a fourth year as a head coach taking over the 2006 select team for next season. He is a level 4 USA Hockey Coach that coached in the Somerville Youth Hockey and Methuen Youth Hockey programs. He grew up playing for Somerville High School, St. Michael's College, and is a NIHOA Referee.

2007 Elite

Brian Ward

Brian Ward joined the Warriors for the 2018-2019 season as the head coach of the 2007 Elite team and is now heading into his second season. Brian has a strong back ground in skating and skills development. He has coached at the Mite level for the past six seasons. Brian played at Plymouth High School and went on to play four years at Saint Anselm College. A practicing Attorney, Brian lives in Melrose with his wife and three children.

Scott Bradford

Scott Bradford joined the Jr. Warrior organization a year ago as an assistant coach for the 2009 Elite team. Scott grew up in Calgary, Alberta and played Junior Hockey for the Calgary Canucks from 1991-93. Scott was a highly touted Division 1 prospect coming out of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and chose to play for the Brown University Bears from 1993-97. Bradford was awarded the Charles A. Robinson Memorial Trophy during his senior season at Brown University. Prior to joining the VJW program Bradford coached at the Tier I & Tier II in Massachusetts.

Mike Krasco

Mike is returning to the Warriors 08 Select team for a third year. He is taking over the head coaching duties after 2 years as the lead assistant. Prior to the Warriors, Mike has coached several teams with Stoneham Youth Hockey and the North Shore Vipers. In addition to the Warriors, Mike is an Assistant Coach for boys and girls hockey teams at the U16 and U18 levels. Mike is a long-time leader with Stoneham Youth Hockey, having volunteered as a Board Member in varying capacities over the past decade. Mike is a local guy that attended and played his High School hockey at Malden Catholic. Mike is passionate about developing hockey players in an environment that focuses on hard work and competition, while keeping it positive and fun. Mike is a USA Hockey Level 4 Certified Coach. He currently lives in Stoneham with his wife and three children.

Phil Mericantante

Phil Mericantante, a resident of North Reading, returns to the Warriors for his fourth season as head coach of the 09 Elite team. He played high school hockey at Matignon, winning a state championship in 1993, before attending Stonehill College. Prior to joining the Warrior program, he coached North Reading Youth Hockey.

Ken Madill

​​Ken Madill grew up in Medford MA where he played youth hockey and continued playing as an adult in various men's leagues. He now resides in Georgetown MA with his wife and 2 children. Ken holds a USA Hockey Level Three Certification in coaching. In the past, Ken served on the Danvers Youth Hockey Board of Directors, and has coached Mites through PeeWees for over seven years. His philosophy promotes individual skill development, team work, and helping each player achieve their personal goals.

Chris Laird

Chris is returning to the Warriors 10 Select team for the 2nd year and is taking over the head coaching duties this year. He played high school hockey at Central Catholic before attending Merrimack College. Prior to joining the Warrior program, Chris coached Triton Youth Hockey. His philosophy is centered on developing players in a positive environment and focuses on working hard while having fun. He currently lives in Rowley with his wife and two children.

Chris Szymanski

Chris was born and raised in Billerica, MA where he played his youth and high school hockey for Billerica and Lowell Junior Chiefs. He attended the University of Massachusetts where he continued his playing career with their Club hockey team. His love of the game still has him playing competitive hockey in various leagues and Pond Hockey Tournaments. In addition to hockey, Chris’s competitive nature drives him to competing in Spartan competitions and in 2016 came in 20th in the Infinitius endurance race, a 66 mile trail race finishing under 22 hours. Chris holds his USA Hockey Level Two Certification in coaching. He has coached in the Andover Youth Hockey program from mite development through Squirts for the past five seasons. Chris resides in Andover, MA with his wife and three boys who all play hockey.

U10 Girls

Jason Carlson

A resident of North Andover, Jason returns to the Warriors for the sixth straight season. In addition to coaching the U10 girls, he is also the 2006 Squirt Minor Select Team head coach. Jason grew up playing for Beverly High School and went on to play for Saint Michael’s College where he received the Ice Knight Award in 1996. Throughout college and for several years after graduating, Carlson worked as a coach for Dynamic Skating.
