A huge congratulations to both our U13 and U12 Tier II girls’ teams for their outstanding performances in tournament play this past weekend! Together, the teams went a combined 8-0, clinching two impressive championships.
U13 Girls – Veterans Day Power Play Tournament Champions
The U13 girls had an incredible weekend in Clifton Park, NY, where they went a perfect 4-0 to win the Veterans Day Power Play Tournament. The team dominated their round-robin play, defeating the NY Dynamo, Adirondack Northstars, and Saugerties Fillies.
In the championship game, the U13 girls delivered a strong performance, beating the NY Dynamo 6-1 to claim the championship title. The U13 girls, currently ranked 4th in the US, continue to prove themselves as a team both locally and nationally. Next up, they’ll be traveling to Montreal in two weeks to compete in the CanAm tournament.
U12 Girls – JayPeak Girls U12 Championship
The Valley Jr Warriors U12 Tier II girls also had an undefeated weekend, finishing 4-0 to capture the JayPeak Girls U12 Championship. The team started strong with two big wins on Friday: a 7-1 victory over the Bay State Breakers and a 5-1 win over the VT Jr. Catamounts.
On Saturday morning, they continued their dominance with a 9-1 win over St. Albans. That set up a highly anticipated Sunday showdown against the East Ottawa Stars, who were also undefeated. In a thrilling and hard-fought championship game, the Jr Warriors found themselves down 2-1 but refused to back down. They fought back to take the game 3-2 and bring home the championship.
Looking Ahead: Elite 9 Action
Both teams are now shifting focus back to the Elite 9 season. This weekend, the U12 girls will face off against the Lovell Winter Club and the NA Jr. Hawks, while the U13 girls will take on the Boston Americans.
Congratulations again to both teams on their well-earned championships!
