Congratulations to Boston University Freshman and Valley Jr. Warriors Alumni, Shane Lachance, who has been named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week. This marks the third consecutive week an Elite 9 alumni earned Hockey East Weekly honors. 

Lachance scored two goals in Boston University's 4-1 win over Merrimack on Friday night. His two second-period goals built a solid 3-0 lead heading into the third. The rookie also recorded two blocked shots. This season, Lachance has scored 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points in the 16 games. 

Lachance is a 2021 NHL Draft pick by the Edmonton Oilers and spent the 2023 season helping his Youngstown Phantoms of the USHL win the Clark Cup. 

Although they were the away team Friday night, he enjoyed playing in front of the hometown crowd as he grew up just down the street in Andover.
