Brian Pinho - #26 Providence College forward
Casey Fitzgerald - #5 Boston College defense
Two Valley Jr. Warrior alumni Brian Pinho and Casey Fitzgerald, have been named 2018 Hobey Baker Award Nominees. The Hokey Baker Award is a highly regarded award annually awarded to the top NCAA men’s ice hockey player.
Pinho spent his entire youth hockey career with the Warriors from squirt minors all the way through U18 midgets. During his U16 season with the Warriors, Pinho played alongside Bobo Carpenter (BU), Eric MacAdams (UNH), Ben Mirageas (Providence) who are now his Hockey East opponents. He currently serves as the Providence College men’s ice hockey captain. The North Andover, Massachusetts native has received several honors throughout his hockey career including Hockey East Weekly Honor Roll, Runner-Up as Hockey East Best Defensive Forward, Lou Lamoriello Award (Team MVP), Gates Orlando Award (most points), Michael Boback Award (most assists) only to name a few.
Fitzgerald also most of his youth hockey career as a Valley Jr. Warrior from peewees all the way through the U16 Tier I level, playing alongside current Hockey East opponent Shane Eiserman (UNH). He currently serves as the Boston College men’s ice hockey captain. He is the recipient of the Angelo V. Berlandi Hockey Scholarship Fund, the Sidney M. MacNeil, S.J. Hockey Scholarship Fund and the Martin Family Hockey Scholarship Fund. He was also named to the Hockey East Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team, was a member of the gold-medal winning U.S. Men’s National Under-18 Team among many other awards and recognitions.
