Valley Jr. Warriors
From Valley to the Olympic Podium: Two Valley Jr. Warriors Alumni Win Gold

The Valley Jr. Warriors have long prided themselves on developing hockey players who go on to succeed at the highest levels of the sport. In 2026, that tradition reached an extraordinary milestone.

The Valley Jr. Warriors are celebrating a historic moment for the program as two alumni captured Olympic gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics, an achievement few youth hockey programs can claim.

Both players began their hockey careers in the Merrimack Valley, wearing the Valley Jr. Warriors jersey and developing their skills on the same rinks where hundreds of young players skate today. Their rise from local youth hockey to the top of the international stage is a proud milestone for the entire Valley hockey community.
The accomplishment may make the Valley Jr. Warriors the only youth hockey program in the Northeast with two alumni winning gold at the same Olympic Games, a remarkable testament to the program’s long-standing commitment to player development.

Olympian and Valley alum Alex Carpenter reflected on the impact the program had on her journey.
“We enjoyed the organization and still have friends that we are close with to this day,” Alex said. “I think having an organization like that to grow up in and learn both as a hockey player and a person was paramount to the careers that we have today.”

For current Warriors players, the moment serves as powerful inspiration — proof that the path from Valley youth hockey to the world’s biggest stage is possible.

“To have alumni from our program win Olympic gold shows our players what’s possible,” said a coach within the organization. “They started exactly where our kids are today.”
